Wales to Wahroonga - Special Event Stations

The Wales to Wahroonga special event station will be operating on 22nd to 23rd of September, 2006.

This event celebrates the first contact between Marconi in Carnarvon, Wales and Ernest Fisk at Wahroonga, NSW on 22nd of September, 1918.

The special event callsign VK2WAH will be activated from
00:01 UC to 23:59 UTC on 22/09/2006.

They will be using all bands from 80 to 10m, plus VHF, and expect to start on 40m.

GB2VK will be operating from the original Marconi trans-atlantic Station in Carnarvon, Wales.

The event is hosted by the Hornsby & Districts Amateur Radio Club and the Wahroonga Amateur Historical Radio Society.
