Worcester hams look to resurrect amateur radio club

Back in the year dot, Worcester had its own Amateur Radio Club, it was successful and had many members. During those early days, just about anyone who was anyone knew of, or were members of the club and for many years together with other clubs in the area, an extremely successful rally was run. Some of you may remember the Rally when it was held at Droitwich High School.

To be honest, very little is known about the demise of the original club, there have been quite a few stories over the years. Were you a member of the original club?  We would love to hear from you.

There are several Amateurs in Worcester who are keen to resurrect the club and put Worcester back on the map again. It has become more evident over past months that Worcester needs a local club to enable people who are interested in Amateur radio to meet locally. With recent license changes it would also be nice to offer training courses for local people who do not have the means to travel to alternative clubs offering courses etc.

We will be adding more and more details to our website http://www.wraa.co.uk as time goes on, and an open evening is being planned for the near future, details will be posted onto the website later. In the mean time if you are interested in hearing more email Pete G0WXJ at pete@wraa.co.uk

We look forward to hearing from you
