ALE On The Air Week 5-15 October

All ham radio operators worldwide are invited to participate in 10 days of HF Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) activity on the air.

This is an international readiness event, with direct HF messaging, HF SMS (phone texting), or short text-based HF email. ALE is interoperable with Winlink2000 system via the ALE High Frequency Network (HFN) stations.

The ALE mode of SMS/email messaging is AMD via 8FSK.

Any operator is invited to use the ALE HFN system to send or receive Winlink2000 text-only short email messages via HF. http://hflink.com/

The HFN system is available 24/7 for normal traffic, emergency/relief traffic, and for any SET (Simulated Emergency Test) operations.
