D-STAR at the Leicester Amateur Radio Show

The new Amateur Radio digital voice mode D-STAR seems to be gaining in popularity.

There's an article about it in the latest issue of Monitoring Monthly magazine and talks on D-STAR at the Leicester Amateur Radio Show 7/8 th September.

Currently only ICOM sell D-STAR rigs in the UK but it is expected that other manufacturers will also produce equipment for this 'open-standard' mode which, it is thought, will eventually replace FM in the 50/144/430 MHz bands.

Don Turner, Icom UK General Manager, will be giving presentations on D-STAR on both the Friday and Saturday 7/8th September at the Leicester Radio Show.
