Verulam Amateur Radio Club - Foundation Course

The UK-based Verulam Amateur Radio Club is running a course leading to an Amateur Radio Foundation Licence. This licence enables holders to transmit on the amateur radio bands, potentially world-wide.

Amateur Radio gives a solid founding in electronics and radio telecommunications backed by practical experience.

Amateur Radio in the 21st century enables experimentation and self learning in a wide field of science and technology, including space communications, the use of computers in radio receivers, antennas and radio propagation, circuit design and construction.

Course trainers are volunteers who have found that Amateur Radio has contributed to their careers in telecommunications and engineering. Trainers are currently employed locally including with T-Mobile, Orange, BBC and the utilities.

Courses will be held at the Verulam School on Wednesday evenings, 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Course enrollment is Wednesday 26th September and is expected to run till mid-February.

There is no charge for use of the school - candidates will need to pay for course materials (the RSGB Foundation Licence) and the exam.
