'Railways on the Air' Weekend

Cheltenham Amateur Radio Association (CARA) will be taking part in the Railways on The Air Event in Association with Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway (GWR)

This Event will take place on the 27th and 28th September 2008

CARA will be using special event callsign GB0GWR from Cheltenham Racecourse Station.

HF operation will be on 80m, 40m and 20m between 0900 and 1630 each day, with the possibility of 2m and 70cm operation on Sunday.

'Paddington Bear' also visits the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway (GWR) during the weekend, with Steam and Heritage Diesel trains departing at regular intervals from 10.15am
