Ofcom Consultation - super-fast broadbandOn Tuesday the UK regulator Ofcom published a number of documents in relation to super-fast broadband including proposals to encourage further investment and competition to deliver super-fast broadband to UK homes and businesses. The consultation document mentions the use of VDSL and VDSL2. These standards involve using the HF Amateur and Broadcast bands, up to as high as 30 MHz in the case of VDSL2, to transmit high-speed broadband down the telephone lines.
