Amateur Radio 'Fourth Plinth' videoThe video showing Martin Maynard G8CIX promoting Amateur Radio from the 4th Plinth in Trafalgar Square can be seen on the web. The 'Fourth Plinth' is part of a major living monument created by sculptor Antony Gormley. The project has been choosing people from all over the UK to occupy the empty Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square in London, a space normally reserved for statues of Kings and Generals. Martin G8CIX was allocated a slot on the plinth between 4-5pm on Friday September 25 during which he operated a special Amateur radio station featuring Icom radio equipment. For this special occasion, Ofcom issued the callsign GB1AO (Gulf Bravo One And Other). The first contact takes place about 4:12 into the video which can be seen at Promoting Amateur Radio world-wide from the 'Fourth Plinth' Thanks to Ray Russel M3ZRJ from spotting this item
