Callsign change for Easter Island DXpedition

An international team of operators will be active as XR0Y (not XR0YA as first announced) from Rapa Nui between October 31st and November 15th.

According to the newest licensing statement released by the Chilean Ministry of Telecommunication (aka Subtel), after arrangements by Radio Club de Chile, the group was delighted to announce that they received permission to use the new shorter, special callsign assigned to DXpeditions from Easter Island.

Since this callsign has been in use 2 times in the past (1995, 2000), the organizers of this expedition will pay much attention to informing the numerous DX bulletins and QSL info databases about the new callsign and their QSL route for the upcoming activity in 2009.

All details regarding their QSL Manager will be announced soon. For more details on this DXpedition, see their Web page at: http://rapanui2009.org
