EI2GBW Special event Station - Cork Swansea Ferry

The purchase of MV Julia for the new Cork-Swansea ferry
service has now been completed.

Julia left Finland on 16 September bound for Swansea, and is expected there on Wednesday 23 September for berthing trials before continuing on to Cork.

You can track her progress on marinetraffic.com under 'Ships Map' on the top left of the home page, and then finding 'Julia' under the 'Go to vessel' option.

Following her brief visit to Swansea, Julia is expected in Cork on Thursday 24 September or possibly the next day or two if her departure from Swansea is delayed.

To celebrate her arrival in Cork, special event station EI2GBW will be operating from the AREN mobile command
post trailer at Customs House Quay on the day she arrives in Cork. Check press reports for exact timing of Julia's arrival in Cork.

EI2GBW will be QRV on 80m and 40m for the day.
Planned frequencies are 3.660 to 3.680 MHz and 7.120 to 7.140 MHz.

Operators will be John EI2GN, Tim EI2KA, Conor EI4JN and John EI9JO.

Visit the EI2GBW page on QRZ.com for background information on the station.
