Pollux and Castor weekend experiment

Ivan KD4HBO brings news of an experiment this weekend to measure the spin rate of the Pollux and Castor Amateur Radio satellites which transmit on 145.825 MHz FM AX.25

On the AMSAT Bulletin Board he writes:

There will be a laser ranging experiment this weekend from Maui. Both satellites have retroreflectors all over. Part of the experiment is to pulse a laser at the satellites at a high rate in an attempt to measure the spin rate. The results will be compared with the student MEMS payloads.

There will also be an attempt to do a long wavelenth IR imaging to get thermal signatures. If you can collect data from now through Sunday and send the data to ande@juno.nrl.navy.mil it will be greatly appreciated.

Also, if you want, you can send your address and I will mail out a QSL card. I will be getting them printed real soon.

Thanks to all who have sent me telemetry.
