Gatwick Radio Weekend11-12th September 2010 Members, their families, and interested friends are invited to come along to the Annual Family Weekend, very close to Gatwick on the A217 at Hunters Moon (surprisingly, there is no aircraft noise and the "on air" noise is virtually non existent). Location; RH6 0HU, GRID TQ262438, the EAST Side of the A217. We shall be on site from mid-day Friday and you can stay into Monday if you wish to. Bring something vintage(ish), preferably radio, but ??? will do! Military vehicles of all radio types welcome - see information at www.radioclubs.net/m0vog - scroll down the events - Oh this year the Ferret MV Club are coming along as well. The site has lots of room to experiment and transmit, is level and congenial for a caravan or tent - while you play radio the family can go to the local sports centre, swimming, Brighton, or the Bluebell Railway, etc., or just lay back and enjoy the sun and the surroundings, and some great friendly horses. Saturday night BBQ and large bonfire. Don't be put off by any sort of weather - one year it did rain a bit, well it hardly stopped, but we still enjoyed ourselves, had the BBQ, and did not finish up in a quagmire of mud. This year we are planning to erect a BIG Shirley Antenna. If you want to sell a few odds and vintage ends then do bring them. Carol Spicer is bringing the last few of Mike's sales items, raising funds for Charity. M1CCF has a pile of old Army EMER's, but NO LARGE SALES TABLES!
