IET Lecture - Women in RadioThe talk is centered on the role of women in radio, but considers how ladies have been involved with technology, from the ancient world to the 19th century and then to the very early days of radio. Although an accountant by profession, the speaker, Francis Mossop, is a qualified radio operator and known by her call sign M0LSA. She is also involved in both leisure and emergency radio activities. Lecture 9th September 2010, Neston, Cheshire UK Burton Manor College, The lecture draws on many facets of historical information and illustrations how some very well known names have participated, particularly supporting the war effort by handling communications. The talk touches on how women contributed to the "radioham" side of technology and contains several amusing anecdotes. Registration Registration not required. Organiser: Merseyside and West Cheshire Network (Retired Members) IET
